THE CROWN JEWEL OF LOS LAGOS IN CALIFORNIA USED TO HOUSE ONE OF THE FUNNIEST CELEBRITIES ON THE PLANET

THE CROWN JEWEL OF LOS LAGOS IN CALIFORNIA USED TO HOUSE ONE OF THE FUNNIEST CELEBRITIES ON THE PLANET

Eddie Murphy’s former Californian Palace

Los Lagos in Granite Bay, California was previously owned by Eddie Murphy, one of the funniest actors Hollywood has seen in the past couple of decades. Aptly named the Crown Jewel of Los Lagos this residence is truly palatial and looks as if it could have belonged to a prince from an Arabian Nights movie. The main home alone is 12600 square foot while the guest house is a generous 5200 square foot. The first impression of the home is a wide paved area with a beautiful fountain at its center. Beyond this is a short, wide set of stairs leading to the entrance of the home with two tall palm trees on either side accompanied by several shorter palms decorated with a string of lights wrapped around their trunks.

Let’s Take a Peek Inside

Circles are the mainstay of this home. From the opulent entrance to the main lounge area that is surrounded by two elegant stairways leading to the upper level and an oval ceiling painted in blue with white clouds, blue and white soft chairs and a soft round pink and maroon rug set the theme for the rest of this palace. The family room is a contrast of rich chocolate browns and creams, an elegant fireplace and imposing columns in differing heights and widths.

The master bedroom is also circular and has a few steps leading to the large king sized bed.  The walls are draped in rich creamy carpeting with touches of blue in strategic places coupled with warm sand tones and marble finishes. This room looks out over a magnificent mountain view.  One of the fourteen bathrooms in this palace features marble like finishing and is as spacious as one might expect and features a huge spa tub.

Fit for a large family with children or adults who love to get in touch with their inner child, the pinball machines in the gaming room allow for just that purpose. Another unique feature of the home is its black Schimmel Pegasus piano with its own round room, displayed on black and white square tiles in yet another roundabout.

And Outside the Luxury Continues

The exterior of the home is just as palatial with its “mini” guesthouse mimicking the larger home and has more palms dotted around that continue the twinkling theme of its family members at the entrance to this beautiful home.  With the bright night lights this adds to the already glamorous mood. Everything twinkles and shines around the huge main pool whirlpool and infinity pool that are reached are accessible from several stairways leading down from the main home to this sumptuous outdoor living space.

Everything about this palace is elegant and it is truly a home fit for royalty which is what modern day celebrities have become. We can only look at the pictures and dream of such luxury!
