Los Angeles and Celebrity Homes
Everyone knows that Hollywood is the home of many rich and famous actors and actresses. Some come from a long line of famous families while others have achieved super stardom from more humble beginnings. It hasn’t taken them long though to become accustomed to the limelight that goes with super star profiles. Besides super-fast luxury sports cars, private jets and yachts, when these stars have their feet on mother earth and choose the homes they live in – they do it with epic style all around the world where the magic word is “location, location, location”.
Los Angeles is the City of Actors and Angels
The younger actors aren’t going to be outdone by their seasoned counterparts when it comes to home buying it seems. Robert Pattinson of Twilight fame is a case in point. His previous home is the ultimate in Spanish luxury and is situated in picturesque Los Feliz, a stone’s throw away from Hollywood.
The courtyard is hugged by the “U” shaped wings of the home and is surrounded by natural vegetation that is indigenous to the area. The courtyard is covered in sandstone paving with easy living furnishings. This view is highlighted with strategic lighting and enhances the arched doorways leading off the courtyard to the various rooms in this magnificent home. From the outside the second floor wrought iron railings of the balcony and wood framed windows are soft on the eyes.
Inside this Magnificent Spanish Styled Home
The living room is topped by a rough wooden ceiling and shutters which doubles as a media room and is filled with sturdy leather upholstered loungers. Moving into the dining area through a set of double French doors one is met with the awesome sight of a glossy wooden arched ceiling. The furnishings here again are fairly rustic and masculine – reminiscent of the current and previous home owners perhaps!
With steep, light colored ceilings the kitchen has a more modern feel than the rest of the home and is ideally situated close to the outdoor living area. The Spanish feel continues here with a lovely blue and white mosaic that provides a quaint focal point and is complemented by the mellow tones of the marble kitchen tops.
Moving into another living space the arched wooden ceiling theme is duplicated with burly wooden shelving and an ultra-modern chandelier, red leather seating and a Turkish rug to round off the look. The master bedroom is much lighter than the other rooms and is characterized by white furnishings that are both elegant and comfortable. The home has three and a half bathrooms that echo the mosaics of Spain and smack of warm summer days and cool evenings. Another feature is the winding staircase laced with a wrought iron banister and finished with chequered black and white floor tiling at its base. This is subdued luxury at its best.
