When someone mentions “home entertainment” most people’s first thought has to do with TV, movies, sports, or music. However, before electronics ruled our world and consumed most aspects of our lives, people used to view home entertainment as something everyone actively participated in, rather than passively taking everything in. Parlor games, board games, musical games; all of these we used before we could sit and veg out in front of a TV. Here are some tips if you’d like a night of unplugged home entertainment.
The majority of people in America and other developed countries have a TV set with a digital receiver, a cable box, or a dish receiver. This is how TV has been for the past several decades, and it’s what the general population is used to, but we are on the cusp of a huge change in the way we receive our media that we view. As of right now, most people are comfortable with flipping on the TV, channel surfing until they find something they want to watch, and the occasional On-Demand movie. With the advent of Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime, and other online services, this might not be the way many people watch TV for much longer. A grower sector of people are building their own PCs and using them to run programs to receive their media. These people often spend a lot less, even with the cost of buying a new computer, and seem to be happy with the freedom this style of television viewing affords them. Building a computer for this use isn’t hard, and doesn’t have to be expensive. The right system will last for years and can be updated cheaply rather than having to buy a whole new machine.

I don’t know about you but being straight as a dye I still think people dressing up in drag is a total scream. Of course actual Drag Queens probably don’t – but then again they do it with such absolute style and aplomb. So do yourselves a favor and throw a Drag party for your friends. Women dressed as men aren’t that funny but when men dress as women it is absolutely hysterical especially when left to the inexperienced.
