Christmas is around the Corner
“I’m dreaming of a white Christmas, just like the ones I used to know.” Everyone is so excited. It is that time of the year again when we can all take a break and relax and plan a few special functions for those closest to us. And nothing says classy quite like white does. Plan a white Christmas for your friends from the invitations to the decor to put everyone in that mood. Send out your invitations in a white beaded box with white chocolates inside and in line with your theme request your guests to write their own Christmas songs this year and share them around your home fire.
Painting your Function White
Besides all those delicious eats, treats and drinks you want to do something special here. Your front door will need a white decoration so make a wire frame and twist up some pine branches and white baubles into that and remember your holly. White organza laden tables peppered with fake snowflakes, crystal ornaments and silver sequins will look absolutely stunning. Use your finest white crockery on the table together with your beautiful silver cutlery to add some sparkle. Hang crystal and glass ornaments from your tree and shower it in fake snowflakes together with satin ribbons and white chocolate coated biscuits and dried fruits. Transparent vases with glass marbles and white blooms together with paintings adorned with white organza, silk and satin will round off the look. Dress your pets with a snazzy white bow around the neck so they also fit in. You may be planning several delicious hot roasts with potatoes, sauces and vegetables and a couple of hot desserts but include your favorite gluhwein recipe to warm the cockles of your guest’s hearts. Make sure the warming sherry and brandies are available to warm things up too.
Increasing the Joy
Throughout the evening your friends can share the songs they have written and learn one another songs. Whether at the table or between courses or after dinner around the fire this will make for much laughter and your party will be one that will be remembered for a long time to come. The best compliment will be when one of your guests copies your idea next year. Proof of what fun everyone had.
Saying Thank You with a Gift
Despite the fact that you are the hostess it is always so heart-warming for your guests when you do go that extra mile and give them a parting gift. Purchase some small white boxes for this purpose and fill them with biscuits or cake topped with cream flavored with a coffee liqueur to go with their breakfast the next day. This may seem like a small detail but it is one that will be well remembered for the kindness it represents. “May your days be merry and bright and may all your Christmases be white”.
