HOW TO REVIVE THE ROMANCE IN YOUR LIFE WITH A DIY DATE NIGHT EVERY WEEK

HOW TO REVIVE THE ROMANCE IN YOUR LIFE WITH A DIY DATE NIGHT EVERY WEEK

Picnic Day is for Romance

A picnic day may sound like a bit of a boring option if you are considering putting the romance back in your life but it is a simple starting point for your first date. It will bring back some memories of when you were starting out and dating on a shoe string budget. You may be thinking to yourself that not much has changed since then except that you are twenty years older, have two beautiful children and a bank full of debt to your name. Ok – we all know that life is tough but that doesn’t mean we need to allow it to get us down.Make a date with your significant other to have a picnic over the weekend to get away from the rat race. Farm the children out to friends, neighbours or willing family members and prepare for your big day. Having fun doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg, it just takes the will to put the romance back in your life and you have nothing to lose and everything to gain.

Where there is a Will, there is a Way

Drag that old picnic basket out of the cupboard and clean out the cob webs. Stock it with all the necessary crockery, cutlery and glassware for the day. Give that picnic blanket a good wash and if you can’t find it, buy a bright new one. Purchase all your favorite snacks from your local outlet and go the extra mile by stocking up with drum sticks, angels on horseback (prunes wrapped in bacon and grilled), deviled eggs and some healthy sandwiches filled with beef slices, mustard, lettuce and cucumber. Pack in a cooler to keep your white wine chilled together with two elegant, long stemmed glasses and a bottle of peanut butter for a silly romantic finger dessert. Remember to take some music with you. This is going to be a nostalgic trip down memory lane and reviving your love.

Romance means spending Quality time together

You don’t need to have money to be romantic so after a leisurely drive to your local park or lake and after you have eaten, you can pack all your goods back in the car and go for a swim or take a long, walk hand in hand. Take the time to feel the grass under your feet, absorb the sights and sounds of birds singing and crickets chirping and just absorb the beauty of nature around you. This is a time to reconnect with your partner and learn how to enjoy the simple things in life again. Romance isn’t about spending money on things you don’t need or can’t afford.  It is about appreciating each other and the small things in life.  It is about taking the time to be together to revive those feelings of long ago and just living in the moment.
