Create Relaxing Surroundings With Interior Fountains

The sound of running water is one of the most relaxing sounds in nature. With an interior fountain, you can bring that sound into your home. Most interior fountains come in three kinds: wall-mounted fountains, free-standing fountains, or tabletop fountains.

Wall-Mounted Fountains

A wall-mounted fountain looks like a large picture with a large frame. The bottom of the fountain catches the water and holds the water pump. The top frame hides the water fixtures. The frame sides hold the wires and tubing that recirculate the water. Inside the frame is the water. The water flows over the textures and the colors, creating a “picture” that is lovely to look at and relaxing to hear. Wall-mounted fountains can take up a lot of space, so it’s important to know how much space you have before deciding to put in this type of fountain.

Free-Standing Fountains

Most people probably think of a garden fountain when they picture a free-standing fountain. However, free-standing fountains can also help create a tranquil atmosphere inside a home. Some free-standing fountains can increase oxygen levels inside while filtering out pollen and dust through continuous filtering. The sound of running water can also promote feelings of relaxation.

Table Top Fountains

Tabletop fountains are just that: small fountains that can be placed on top of a table, or perhaps on a fireplace mantle. These can range from very small and simple to larger and more complex. As with a freestanding fountain, its sounds can help contribute to a feeling of calm and relaxation. Each size and type of fountain has its pros and its cons, and you need to think about them when deciding to purchase one. Do you want a large fountain, or a small one? As mentioned before, wall-mounted fountains can take up a great deal of space. If you’re investing in a free-standing or tabletop fountain, you also have to consider the amount of space you can devote to either one. A large tabletop fountain will obviously not fit on a tiny end table. On the other hand, a small tabletop fountain is more flexible and usually doesn’t need a lot of wiring.

Also, how much noise do you want the fountain to make? Do you want it loud, like a waterfall? Or do you want it to be more like a small brook? If you’re putting a small fountain in a bedroom, make sure it’s not a noisy one. It’s difficult to relax next to a fountain that is noisy. And, while you do want your fountain to make an impact, you don’t want it to bother your family or your guests.

So, if you’re looking for a way to relax, perhaps an indoor fountain is the way to go.
