Smart Ways of Organizing a Kitchen

Smart Ways of Organizing a Kitchen

Mostly, you spend time in the kitchen preparing meals, cooking and sometimes sharing meals with family. For modern kitchens, they also act as a place to entertain guests for a dinner or lunch. Hence, to increase efficiency and maintain an appealing look, good arrangement is paramount. You need a free space to reach out for utensils and ingredients at ease. There are ideas you can implement to organize your kitchen, without having to do a remodel. First, there are those things, which you use frequently. To avoid having to walk down multiple times to access such necessities, keep them within your reach. Set a place near the sink or the cooking stove for items such as vinegar, oil, knives, cutting board and the like. For the ingredients and kitchen tools, keep them where you will be using them.  For instance, a basket of garlic beside the cutting board, sugar and flour near the mixer and your favorite pan overhead your front burner.

Use the under-cabinet and open shelving, for storing things that you do not need at all times. An LED lighting that depends on a battery will fit under the cabinet. This will reduce the number of cords you have in the kitchen. Under-shelves, can act as storage spaces for items such as cookbooks, which you only need at certain times. In addition, accessing some things can be a problem in deep shelves. To avoid this mess, fetch some small-sized storage baskets to hold items and place them in order of how frequent you use them. Your walls can do something rather than looking cute. Use the walls to hoist some kitchen tools and appliances.  Hang hooks or racks to keep potholders, dishtowels and utensils within your reach.  Go to the stationery and art stores, to find hanging rolls of paper. These will act as perfect reminders for the menus, grocery shopping and other related issues.

Use cabinetry to host most of your things. There are many pantry options in the market. You can choose one, depending on the style of your kitchen. Look for cabinets that offer the best organization compartments but one, which will not occupy much space. Today, cabinets are lean, hence, even if your kitchen’s space is restrained, you can get a cabinetry that will fit in the room. If you want to display some of your collectibles and elegant dishes, go for glass cabinet doors. Lastly, since the kitchen requires many appliances, you have to find a way to maintain all of them in the room.  Arrange stoves and fridges against the wall, if your cabinetry does not cover the entire kitchen.  Wash kettles, toasters and other small appliances after use and place them in the cabinet. This will leave your countertops free of clutter, for other functions. Your kitchen should look nothing but the best. It should set the mood for you to cook, enjoy a meal or even entertain your friends.  Organizing kitchen is a DIY exercise and only calls for spare time and your imagination; before you know it, you create a neat and an appealing space. If your kitchen is in disarray, try the above ideas and you will love it.
